The James Durrans Group is a family owned group of companies with the head office at Penistone, Sheffield in England. James Durrans Group has developed from James Durrans & Sons established in 1863. There are Four UK manufacturing sites, namely: Penistone (Yorkshire), Bilston (West Midlands), Brancepeth (Co. Durham) and Scunthorpe (Lincolnshire), producing a wide product range including Recarburisers, Refractory Coatings, Spinning & Die Coatings, Metallurgical Coke, Coal and Coal/Clay Blends, Synthetic and Natural Graphites, Milled Carbons and graphites, Intumescent Graphites, Lubricant products and Machined Graphite Components.
Manufacturing facilities in Europe are centred in Willich (near Dusseldorf, Germany) were a modern refractory coatings production facility is situated. The Asian and Far Eastern market is serviced from the modern refractory coatings plant in China (James Durrans (Tianjin) Coatings). The Durrans Group is also comprised of a number of joint ventures in South Africa, India Germany and France, with a global network of Agents backed by experienced Durrans manufacturing and technical personnel.
